A Crafting Space 4 Me!

Hi,
Hope you all had a really great Christmas. I wanted to pop on and say that I am going to pick my crafting up in the New Year and hopefully will have some things to share. I have not been crafting at all lately and miss it terribly... We are about to have some work done on the house... new bathroom and some work done else where... and in amongst all of this I am going to take over the cupboard under the stairs (currently used for junk and kids toys), decorate it out, put in new shelving/cupboards and turn it into a walk in craft cupboard. Finding the right cupboards and how I am going to store my crafting is actually proving abit of a challenge... but somewhere the perfect idea is lurking waiting for me to pounce on it!!!! ha! I am so sick of having everything spread out around the house, some in this room and some in another... Everything needs a place... and although my OH would like me to throw all my crafting out and be done with it... it is going to have it's own space too!!!!
Anyway, Happy New Year... hope 2012 is a wonderful year for you all!

Mojo Monday 215

Hi,

It's been ages since I blogged... infact I haven't done a lot of crafting either... I am now very behind with my Christmas cards... am hoping for some free afternoons later in the week!

Still don't have my laptop working... think I am going to need to buy a new one!!! I miss it terribly, just can't seem to get to grips with this desktop... and I have to sit in Steve's room too!!!

Anyway, this evening I had a play after sorting abit of stuff out ready for my sessions and took inspiration from a sketch over at Mojo Monday... really enjoyed playing along! Don't you just love that DCWV paper!!!

Will hopefully be back tomorrow evening with something to show for my freed up afternoon...

I have been making lists to get myself organised for 'getting ready for Christmas' ... list after list after list... serves me right, I should have made a planner, I usually do!

Having a Play!!!!

Hey...
Hope you are well and happy.
Still don't have my laptop fixed... I feel so lost without it!!!! Anyway, I thought I would take the opportunity with the house being empty to show you what I have been playing with lately...

I am trying to make some Christmas cards... We seem to send out loads these days, so I am leaving my 'special family' cards for a while and just concentrating on making all the others. I really want to get them done a bit earlier this year!!!!

I have been playing with my Cuttlebug and dies... I love the snowflakes and christmas tree's... and I have been digging out old patterned paper that I get out each year and don't use!!! The trees are in some lovely Doodlebug paper that I have had forever... I did one scrapbook page with some and just left the rest... I think it works nicely on these cards...

These I did with some mulberry paper that I found in the same box... it was one of those impulse buys that I thought looked pretty but never actually had a use for!!!

And these were jusing some bits and bobs too.... I seem to have a whole pile of stuff that I have no idea where they came from at all!!!!

I also crocheted my daughter a headband, I knitted her a blue one too, but I couldn't find that one to take a picture!!! There seem to be alot around the shops at the moment... trouble is she wants one in every colour!!!! Luckily they don't take long to make!

I also crocheted her this little bag... she is forever taking books and magazines to read in the car, so I crocheted her this to carry them in and out of the house, instead of us finding a whole pile on the back seat!!!

And lastly, I had a play at a making an ornament picture with buttons... found it on a challenge site that I have forgotten about at the beginning of the summer holidays... it was fun to do, just need to stitch some ribbon on it so that I can hang it up when Christmas gets nearer!

Catching up!

Hi,
Hope you have been having a lovely summer... I have been enjoying having my children around, though I think they are ready to go back to school now...
The bad news is my laptop seems to have a serious problem... looks like I am going to have to find somewhere to take a look at it... I miss it like mad. I hardly use our main computer (it is impossible to get onto, to be honest)!!!!!
I do have some crafting pictures to share with you... I am hoping to get back on here tonight to upload the pictures and share what I have been doing!
In my browsing I discovered this lovely blog called Scrappin' For Kenzie... lovely scrapbook layouts if you want a browse and you could check out the giveaway (pic below) which looks incredible... finishes today so you best be quick!!!!

The weather here is dull and we have a trip to the dentist this afternoon, lets hope the rain holds off.... then we can have a walk along the beach!!!

Cards for Men...

Good morning...
I always seem to struggle with cards for men, mostly because I never have anything in my stash suitable... I need to buy stuff with this in mind more often... My inspiration for this card came from Cards for Men, the challenge being to use a key. I will remember to follow this challenge from now on, I need a supply of male cards!

The children break up today... I just hope the weather is going to be a bit more child-friendly from now on... I am hoping to go looking for a bit of Christmas stash, get them making their Christmas cards... it's ok leaving a few for a pre-Christmas crafting session but it's such hard work if they have many to make and I swear my two send cards to nearly everyone!!!! I have noticed a few Christmas cards appearing now so I'm not the only one... I was still making the odd one last year the week before... I am determined to be more organised!!!! Plus it's an excuse for a crafting shopping trip... if I pick the right shops the children actually enjoy it (although it costs me twice as much!!!!).

Hope it's bright and sunny where you are... hasn't made it's mind up here yet!!!!

Sketch Thursday - 7.14

Have been playing with some old papers this morning... inspiration for this layout came from Sketch Thursday 7.14... I have only to fill in the journaling but I can't seem to find a suitable pen...
Nice and simple... the days when it was easy to occupy them all day... suddenly now they are bored after 20 minutes whatever we do... Mine break up for the summer on Thursday, as I have a few things to do tomorrow I decided that today would be a quiet me-day and I am enjoying having a play. I will be back with a card or two later.

I'm back!!!

Hi,
Today I made a card... I haven't really been doing much crafting lately... My OH has been totally stressing me out... I'm not going to get all personal here because my blog is about my crafting, lets just say that I need to get back into my crafting for some relief and just maybe I will stay sane through out all this!!! Life can be such hard work sometimes and I am feeling very low at the moment!

Anyway, the card... inspired by a sketch I found when browsing. The blog is Kathy's Waffle Sketch File. The card is for an Aunt, but the photo really doesn't do it justice... the faded image of the cottage is really sweet!

As I am sorting through my crafting, I am finding some lovely papers that I had forgotten about... I have found some wonderful goodies that I am keen to have a play with...

I also found some bits of old wool that I have been making into little doily mats for my daughters room which she loves... I am actually trying to teach her to crochet but of course, as she is 10 she is full of enthusiasm but a little short on patience. By the end of the summer I am sure she will have it!

This is a blanket that I am crocheting like mad for our next camping trip... we went away last weekend to try our new tent and it was 100% easier than our last one. I am not really a camping person, but my kids love it... We now have camp beds, carpet and I am getting to grips with the limited kitchen facilities. The weather was absolutely gorgeous... lets hope it's like that when we go away again!!!

I have also made my own version of a Smash book, which I couldn't find to take a photo to include in this post... must be upstairs somewhere... I am really enjoying playing with that. Somewhere to finally put all those little tickets and things that I keep!

Now I am going to do a little more of my blanket... hope you are well and happy. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I also enjoyed playing with this scrap booking page... inspiration came from Sketch Thursday... it was actually last weeks sketch, but I really wanted to have a go... I really need to get stuck into some scrapbooking...

A card and a scrapbook layout!

Hi,
Well, this is what I have been playing with this morning. The inspiration for this card came from Sweet Sketch Wednesday # 101... Great sketch... lovely challenge blog well worth checking out.

The inspiration for the Scrapbook LO came from Sketchy Thursday # 5.5... ... too late to be in this weeks challenge, but what a great sketch... I just had to have a play! The pictures are from the beach in Looe, Cornwall... beautiful place! I had fun with this page... I love the flowers and had the paper in a kit someone sent me in a UKS swap... very pretty! I haven't done the journalling because I couldn't find the right pen to do it in... so I figure that will have to wait until I get one!

Someone has nicked the sun today... glad I am indoors playing with my crafting toys... and have made a lovely chocolate cake for later too. (I'm trying to ignore the ironing today!!!!).

Sketch Saturday #154

Well, I haven't done much crafting at all lately... I have been crocheting a shawl which I am almost finished... have bought some lovely wool to play with... other than that I seem to spend far too much time browsing on the internet...
However, this morning I have been playing... made a card... inspiration came from Sketch Saturday # 154... had fun playing along... hoping to have another play tomorrow...

The sun is shining beautifully here today... really I should have done some work in the garden... never mind... Sometimes you just HAVE to play with the paper, don't you? I have been trying to sort out my photo's from our little Easter Holiday in the Lakes, I am hoping to do some scrapbooking, but realise I need a new scrapbook... there are so many lovely ones around, I actually gave up earlier because I either didn't want to pay that much or couldn't decide which one... too much choice isn't always a good thing, is it???

Anyway, better get on...

Mojo Monday... 188

Hi,
Well, as always nothing goes to plan, does it? Didn't have a crafting day yesterday... but I grabbed a couple of hours last night... and I played along with the sketch on Mojo Monday 188.
I made this for my sister's wedding anniversary... I made her wedding cake, it was a bit bigger than this though... had quite a few tiers and a fountain, and a LOT of handmade sugar flowers... I loved it... probably my favourite wedding cake I have made!!! Anyway... great sketch... enjoyed playing...

Then I made this one for my nephew... he is football and gaming mad!!!! The Papers are from a Smirk pack I bought... brilliant papers for boys cards!!!! My mum donated the sticker in the middle...

So today is my mum's birthday and she is coming round for dinner tonight... I forgot to take a photo of the card I made for her... I got her crafting vouchers... very useful!!! Now I am off to make cake for tonight... still trying to decide what type of cake to make... hoping for some inspiration when I walk into the kitchen!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hi,
Firstly, I haven't had any time for crafting... today is the first time in an age that I have had any time to myself to get my toys out... And this is what I made... inspired by a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches... I had fun with this it's an unusual sketch for a non-christmas card!!!

I have a couple of new cuttlebug dies to play with tomorrow... so I will be back with more, I have cards I need to make for the weekend!!!
Hope you had a good Easter! We had a great Easter... we spent 4 days in the Lakes coming back the Thursday before Good Friday and the weather was amazing!!! Didn't expect such warm weather so we took all the wrong clothes!!! It's so beautiful up there and I took lots of photos so hopefully that will inspire me to do some scrapbooking. Then my sister and her family came to visit and that was fun too... today I have been catching up on washing and housework... tomorrow I am having a day to play!!!!!
Anyway, am suddenly really tired...

Cute Card Thursday!

Hi, Just a quick one today... hand still giving me a bit of a problem when crafting... I have made a card... this is for a couple that are renewing their wedding vows... The challenge that gave me inspiration to actually make it a week and a half early (thats me being organized!!!)... came from Cute Card Thursday... the theme this week is Couples... some lovely DT cards... I had fun playing along although it took me longer than usual!!! Can't believe how miserable the weather is this week... and it's dark when I get up in the morning now!!! Roll on the summer!!!! Mojo Monday # 184

Hi, My card today is for someone who is handbag-mad!!!! My inspiration came from the sketch over at Mojo monday #184, I enjoyed playing along...

Only thing is I seem to have done something to my hand as I was doing housework yesterday... (always knew it was bad for me!!!!) ... luckily my left hand... but everything hurts... using scissors is a nightmare... yes, I use the scissors in my right hand but holding whatever it is I am cutting really hurts!!! I have a rather nasty bruise and am hoping that is all it is and it goes away!!! But it's amazing what you can do with just one hand... but it is amazing how you rely on the back up of the other one, isn't it? Peeling vegetables is a no-no... I also realised that I am too independent about household chores and cooking... my family are just not being trained properly... the hassle we had yesterday over them peeling a few potatoes!!!! I put the carrots back in the fridge!!!! it just wasn't worth the hassle!!!! My OH really is useless in the kitchen, I know I always say it but mainly because he never helps... but he really is useless!!!

Anyway, am off to attempt some ironing... really I should probably rest it, but I am rubbish at sitting still doing nothing... I cannot sit and just watch tv... I have to be doing something at the same time!!!

Friday Sketchers # 146

Hi,
Have been busy this week... only time I have had for crafting I have used to crochet more flowers for my flower blanket! However this morning I had a play as I need a card for my friends Dad... he is always getting roped into DIY especially now he is retired!!! My inspiration came from Friday Sketchers #146... great sketch... the papers I used are October Afternoon... gorgeous!!!!

I am hoping to find some time tomorrow... I need to make another couple of cards for next week...
Hope the weather is as lovely where you are as it is here today... the sun is definately smiling! My cat is in his element... he is out worshiping the sun... you can actually see him smiling back!!!

Friday Sketchers #145

Hope you are happy and feeling well.
I have been having a play... the inspiration for this card came from Friday Sketchers #145 sketch... gorgeous! Beautiful DT cards... This is using some bits from my scrapbox... not a 12x12 in sight when I was making this one... yay!!!!!

I used one of my flowers that I made with one of my new Marianne creatable dies that I got with some of my birthday money... really enjoyed making them... below is picture of all the ones I made... want to dig out some different types of papers and have another go later... I think they are very pretty, but I need to get some more ribbon!!! Suddenly all my ribbon seems wide!!!

These are the butterflies... I actually had a few more but DD came along and suddenly had cards to make for school friends!!!! and my pile got smaller!!!

This week I decided to make my take on my Grandma's Victoria Sandwich cake... will be baking cupcakes tomorrow... somehow I have got roped into baking cupcakes for the school for fridays Red Nose Day...

Anyway, have a couple more Marianne dies to play with this afternoon. Hope you are having a great day.

Goodness me, it's cold and windy here today... was going out but decided to stay in and play instead... I am trying to use up stuff in my scrapbox again... this card was inspired by a gorgeous sketch on Mojo Monday - #181 ... some lovely DT cards ...

Yesterday I made Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes... yummy... they don't last long in our house so I am always lucky if I manage to get a picture!!!!

I am now going to have a play with a new Marianne creatable die cut I got this morning...

Catching up!

Hi,
Well, last week didn't quite go as planned... First, we had a virus from hell on the other computer, then OH had his bank card cloned and money taken out of his account in Argentina???!!! Then his mother finally lost the plot!!! To be fair, they are having loads of problems with sorting out their house after an electric fire blew up in their living room, but she won't let anyone help (says they are interfering!!!) but seems to make it worse herself all the time!!! Steve is tearing his hair out (not that he has a lot,ha!!!!!). The whole thing (after it dragging out five weeks and them having to move out of their home into a hotel) has got so out of hand, it is making her ill and more eccentric than she normally is!!!!
Anyway, enough of that! I haven't done much crafting really... made this card for an Aunt...

this one for my cousins son... my attempt at being groovy... ha!!!

And, finally I had some peace and quiet last night and started crocheting these flowers, which I intend to put together to make a throw!

My birthday was a bit of a no-go-er because of all the problems with OH's Mum, but I do have some birthday money to spend on crafting stash... and my mum is going to take myself and the children out next weekend for lunch at one of our favourite eating places as a late birthday treat! So I am looking forward to that...

Gosh, it seems cold this morning... off to turn up the heating I think....

Firstly I have to say a huge Thank You to Karen who has very nicely given me a Stylish Blogger Award... I am totally blown away that you think my humble blog is worthy of an award and you have really made my day... {{{Hugs}}}... If you haven't checked out Karen's lovely blog I have put a link...

Finished my mini book at last!!!

Hi,
Well, my son ended up having the sickness bug that my daughter had over the weekend... (that school is sooooo disease ridden!!!!)... so less crafting time than I had originally hoped for... They have both spent time this morning making birthday cards for my OH and myself for next week... strangely enough we share the same day... when he first told me this I thought he was kidding... but no, although he is two years older than me, we actually do have the same birthday on 2nd March... weird eh???? It has it's good points... he's never going to forget my birthday, is he????

I managed to finish my mini-book of our holiday in Cornwall... I would show you pictures of the inside pages too, but my camera battery went dead and is now charging in the kitchen... typical!!!
I have also finished my cross stitch my stocking shaped house... I will post a picture of that tomorrow. I am so pleased with it, it's so cute. I don't really want to do it as an actual stocking because we have loads so I think I am going to make it into a cushion cover... will have to see!!!
Am hoping to have some time for a card or two later... hope you are having a happy sunny day.

Sketch Saturday 143

Hi,
Hope the weather is better where you are. It is just so miserable and dark here... typical school holidays weather!!!!!
Yesterday I actually found time to make cards... the first one, I was inspired by Sketch saturdays #143 sketch... I actually want to put a glittery age on it... you know when you know you have something but you can't find it????? So irritating...

The second one, just kind of came together... I am trying to use scraps from my scrap box... why is it so much easier to chop my lovely 12x12's!!!! I am trying to make more use of my stash too, I sat and sorted out all my flowers yesterday... and better use of my tools... I am cutting some stuff out on my cuttlebug and cricut in plain colours in hope that I can use them more often... When I ooh and ahh over new stuff and new tools, my OH is always pointing out that I am supposed to use these things after I buy them... ha! yeah, he does think he is being funny too!!!

Well the kids are off school this week, so crafting time will probably include my daughter... I have a couple of things in mind for us to do... I also want to finish a mini-book I started last year, this I am hoping to do this afternoon... I am hoping to whizz round in a minute and do my chores...

Our Creative Corner - Branch Out challenge

Hi,
I found a lovely new challenge blog as I was browsing and it inspired me to make my 2nd Christmas card of the year... I seem to be getting mixed up with doing one a week and one a month!!!!!! Anyway... the blog is called Our Creative Corner and the theme is Branch Out... This card was really quick because the paper is pretty busy but the embellies are so simple! I don't know where I got these christmas trees from.. I wish I knew because I love them!!!!

My daughter swam in her first swimming Gala yesterday and came second... so I am proud mum today... I did bake some of my own version of Red Velvet cupcakes yesterday but they ate them before I had a chance to take a piccie... vulchers!!!!!

I have been sorting through some old stickers and embellishments which I want to try and use on some cards... thats how I found the Christmas trees and Tag for the above card... I found some real treasures... hopefully they will appear on some cards soon!!!

Anyway, need to get on with the ironing!!!

Mojo Monday 177

Hi,
Yaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!! Back on my laptop, all in working order again... can't tell you how much I have missed it!!!!
Anyway, my card is for my cousin... inspiration from the sketch over at Mojo Monday #177... what a fabbie sketch this week!!!! I loved it... was perfect for the image I wanted to use on Molly's card!

I haven't done much in the way of crafting... my children caught a horrible flu like cold from school both ended up having at lease one day off school... then OH got it... of course his was much worse!!!!! He also had a day off work... now I have it... and I still have to soldier on as normal... no days off for mummy!!!!! I still have to get up at 6.45am each morning and do all the normal things... feeling very sorry for myself at the moment... I promised myself 15 minutes with a cup of tea this afternoon so that I can do this and an early bed tonight!!!!!

Last week I made more cupcakes... the first photo are Strawberry Cupcakes... they were very yummy!!!! Very morish!!! I only got 1... I know I am supposed to be cutting down but really...!!!

Then I made Chocolate Orange cupcakes with chocolate fudge icing... again very yummy... Daddy has a sulk if I go too long without making something with chocolate in!!!

I am still battling on with my daughters blanket... will soon be finished now...

Anyway off to finish my cup of tea...

Mojo Monday... and my laptop has no internet!!!!!

Hi,
This week I am lost as my laptop has no internet... I feel disconnected... I am having to use the desktop... and it feels so weird (like 'oooh, this is what it used to be like.... stuck in the backroom with no tv and comfy chair!!!!'). I'm not happy... I'm also not a computer geek... I hate to say it but I need OH to help me sort it out, and that won't get done until next week. A whole weekend of fighting to get on here... I can't tell you how much I miss my laptop, it's almost ridiculous!!!!
Anyway, enough of me moaning about that... I have a little time to myself tonight... OH working and the kids have gone to a party, so I grabbed the computer quick... I swear this chair is never empty when everyone is home!!!! My card today is inspired by Mojo Monday 175 sketch... I enjoyed making this card, the papers are gorgeous and I've been admiring and stroking them long enough... time to use them I think!!!! It came from a pad called 'Summer Bloom'... and the background is Anna Griffin...

I have also been baking cupcakes again... the picture is of some 'Bakewell cupcakes'... my son's favourites, I did make some pineapple cupcakes but I wasn't quick enough with the camera to take a piccie!!!! Cupcakes don't last long in our house!!!!

I am still crocheting... I have finished the bright coloured blanket for my son, and have now started a pretty pink, lilac and blue one for my daughter... keeping me busy, but I'm not getting any cards made!!!! I had a trip to Hobbycraft this morning with my mum... I was only going along for the ride (like you do!) and somehow a DCWV pad insisted it came home with... my excuse is that I need some inspiration to get me scrapbooking again... it's the 'Club Mediterranean'. It was actually reduced to half price.... Bargain!!!!

Hi,
Well, finally I feel more myself again... I have made another one of my birthday cards for next weeks' birthdays... inspiration came from Mojo Monday sketch # 174. What a fun sketch! The image is from some decoupage type images my mum gave me... I love this pink glitter card, it nearly killed me to cut it up and use it... so pretty and shiny!!!

The card is for my cousin... she is always saying everything is such a rush and she hardly has time to think... so I thought this image was perfect!!!! Nothing like a relaxing soak in the bath as a treat!!!
Other thing I did yesterday was bake some Vanilla Cupcakes... yummy!!!! I didn't do my usual icing piped swirl, someone has nicked off with my stool in the kitchen and I couldn't reach the piping stuff, so I lazily made a bag with the greased proof paper and did it that way!!!! They don't last two minutes in our house... I made 12 yesterday afternoon and there are 4 left now. I have a new recipe to try for some strawberry ones this weekend...

Anyway, we have my OH at home this weekend... this I am sure means that I will have very little time to craft... I need to get some more wool to continue on with the blanket - I'm determined to finish that next week, then start one for my daughter... can't do one without the other, can we???

Something different....

Thought I'd pop in and show what I have been doing the last couple of days... I decided to crochet a lightweight blanket for my son to bring downstairs... he keeps using bed blankets and all his cuddly toys keep ending up everywhere, so I thought we could keep this somewhere he can grab it without turning his room into a bomb site!!!! He's such a cuddly little boy, he loves a warm cuddly blanket... he chose the colours himself. I am very pleased with myself, haven't done any crocheting in a long time and did wonder if I could remember how to do it... like riding a bike....!!!! To be honest, I have felt really awful the last couple of days and it's been quite theraputic making this blanket...

Hopefully, I will get some card making time... I have three birthday cards to make for next week...

Mojo Monday - 173

Hi,
Well, today I have finally had time to make a card... My stash needs a good clear out after the disorganised mess it seems to have been left in after making my Christmas cards and what not!!!! I'm ok when I get started, it's just the getting started!!!
Anyway, I love this sketch from Mojo Monday - 173 - this is my take on it... I ended up using a couple of my daughters stickers because I couldn't find anything mermaid-ish in my stash... does the job!!!!

I have actually been concentrating on some cross stitch that I want to get finished... Christmas ones that I don't want to put away to finish later in the year because, of course, they never get finished, do they?!!!!

I have also been spending alot of time reading and looking at lots of wonderful craft sites and blogs and have found some very inspiring ideas. I am hoping that I am going to be a bit more adventurous with my crafting this year... and I found some great new recipes for cakes!!!! I love to bake cakes... my children love cupcakes, so I love to discover new recipes and ideas... I want to get one of those giant cupcake cases... it's a passion my OH actually approves of and never moans about any mess because he has a sweet tooth!!!! ha!

Anyway, better get moving... have to go and get the kids!

Happy New Year!

Hi,
Hope you are all happy and enjoyed the holidays... happy New Year! We had a lovely Christmas at home, then an even lovelier New Year holiday at my sisters with my family and friends. My daughter turned 10 years old... double figures now!!! And now it's hard work getting everything and everyone back to normal!!!!

All the decorations have now gone, and I am being a good girl making some Christmas tags with some of our Christmas cards... Usually I leave it until later in the New Year, but I decided it would take up less space if I actually made them now.

I am also working on some cross stitching... I will take a photo when I am done, which hopefully will be in the next few days!!!! I have some Cross Stitch UFO's that I want to get finished... I keep them in a basket and have recently realised it is getting out of hand!!!!

I am on the look out for some new challenges... to help me keep on track with my cards, and also to give me some inspiration and to keep me crafting!!!

The snow is back today and I am having one of those days that I just can't stay warm, even as I type this my fingers are freezing... heatings going to have to go back on soon I think...

Honestly I felt absolutely exhausted last night and was glad when our last guest had gone, the children went to bed, just so that I could go to bed... We had a lovely Christmas day, I really enjoyed myself, but as I said very tired... Today apart from cooking the dinner, I am doing nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had an ebook but was too tired to even think of having a play... so thats what I am off to do now!

Here is my take on the Mojo Monday Sketch #16... I enjoyed this one... nice sketch to work from.

I have my son at home from school, he has had a really high temperature for the last couple of days. Thankfully he seems much better today... driving me up the wall because he is bored now he feels better... back to school tomorrow I think!!!! This of course means all those things I was planning to do this week have gone out the window!!!! So next week I will be running around like an idiot getting everything sorted before they break up next friday. I love how everything always goes to plan!!!!

Well, better get on... need to make a couple more cards... am getting to the point where it's just close family members I need cards for... YAY!!!!!!!

Scrapbooking... weekend cybercrop at UKS

Hi,
This weekend my crafting has been scrapbooking... UKS have had a cybercrop and I have attempted a few of the classes and challenges. I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to have (but when do we ever!!!) so I am going to do the others some other time. I had fun with these layouts though...

These photos were from Blackpool... I've had these Adornit papers for quite a while and just seem to stroke them alot... lovely to find a use for them!

A visit to Santa... this was last year... don't suppose they will want to do that this year... more old Christmas stash...

I took these photo's in Lytham on Christmas eve a couple of years ago... it was a beautiful warm day and we had a lovely time, there was ice-skating, street entertainers and we had some delicious homemade vegetable soup... The children even played in the park!

This was one of the classes... My daughter learning to skip a few years ago now... I really enjoyed doing this layout, the sewing was fun, I don't do enough of it...

I have been using up stash I have had for ages too which is brilliant... might make some room for some new papers, eh? Any excuse to shop...

I still have some Christmas cards I need to get done, and I want to make a couple of gift cards and gift boxes...

Suddenly it has gone really chilly again here. I am going to have an early night tonight. My son has been suffering with a horrible cold all weekend and I think I might be getting it...

This card was inspired by the sketch @ Sketch Saturday #131, great sketch to work with... I am having a crafting afternoon, so hopefully will be back later with another image or so.

I am planning on putting the Christmas tree up tomorrow, so want to get as much done as possible today... also tomorrow UKScrappers are having a Cyber Crop which I am hoping to play along with tomorrow night... I tried so hard to keep the whole weekend so that I would have lots of time to play along and suddenly things are piling up... typical!!!!

Well, snowscenes and snowflakes seem to be appropriate, don't they? I hope you are keeping warm... can't believe some of the temperatures they are talking about on the news today!!!! All seems abit bizarre, doesn't it? I love Christmas, but I hate cold weather. I am so glad I haven't had anywhere to go today.

I am determined to make some cards... the kids are driving me up the wall! If I weren't trying to do something, they would just get on with what they are doing!!!

Hope you are keeping warm... I seem to go cold every time I move out of this room... winter is well and truely with us...
Here is my take on Laura's Sketch 66 over at 2 Sketches 4 You. The image is one my mum gave me... she really is such a sweetheart. I am on a really tight budget with my crafting at the moment and she gets me some great stuff to help me keep going, like I don't have loads anyway...
Well, I haven't managed to make any today... I did this one yesterday... fingers crossed for more time to myself tomorrow evening. I am getting a little more Christmassy in my thinking, have made lots of lists today. I am a list person, it's how I actually get things done... by writing things down and making lists... my calender is one of my most important things. If it disappeared all hell would break loose here... it tells me what everyone else is doing and it tells me what I am doing... I have a great memory for things I don't need to remember, like song lyrics, useless information, etc. But anything that I need to remember... well, thats why I have the calender! Before the kids, I had a filofax... a lovely one that I doodled all over, with lots of pretty things...
Anyway, I'm shattered so I'm off to bed to read.

Here is my take on Friday Sketchers lovely sketch #129. I made this and it is so cute, I want it on my card tree!!!!!! ha! Anyway, the paper is from a small pack of Dovecraft paper that I picked up at a craft fair... I am really pleased with it... never sure of things I buy on impulse, I mean how many times do I do that and never use it!!!!!

I can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit yet... I keep thinking about all these things I need to sort out and instead I'm sitting their browsing all these beautiful craft sites and blogs!!!!
Hopefully I will get a couple of the others I made uploaded later... I actually have made 9 now... I think I need about 40 more!!!!! Argh!!!!!!!

Mojo Monday - 165

Hey!
I am sorry that I have just not had time to craft... I had a really tough college assignment that has been driving me nuts!!!!! and it has left me behind in my Christmas cards, behind in everything to be honest!!!!
Anyway, I made a card tonight... I really have to have a good session tomorrow... My inspiration came from a lovely sketch from Mojo Monday - 165, gorgeous... I totally enjoyed myself, it really made me feel better. I did get distracted and played with my cuttlebug for a little while, so hopefully this will inspire me to get on with my cards tomorrow.

I hope you are all better organised than I am, and life is treating you well. I am determined to devote at least a couple of days to my sorting out Christmas cards and shopping lists... one minute Christmas is months away, then you blink and find people are saying 'when shall we get together for exchanging gifts????' OMG!!!
I'm off to have a hot chocolate and then I'm going to bed... it's so cold tonight!!!! Winter is coming!!!!!

Cute card - Friday Sketchers

Well, my inspiration for this card came from Friday Sketchers #125 - nice sketch to work from - and I am using this really sweet hedgehog image from a group of things my mum gave me... She is always passing on card stuff to me... I seem to spend all my money on scrapbooking stuff and I think she is determined to get me to keep using my stash instead of storing it up and just admiring it!!!! I'm really pleased with this card... even if I say so myself, it's cute!

I have been cutting out snowflakes with my new Marianne Creatable Snowflake die-cutters and my cuttlebug... see I do use it!!!!! It's not just a pretty pink thing!!!! I am really pleased with them although I did struggle to get some of them out!!!! Have some flowers to play with next... them hope to sneak a butterfly into a shopping basket at some point throughout the week!!!! hee

hee!!!! I am doing very well on my craft budgeting... honest ;)

I am going to make myself a Christmas planner... made one last year and have to admit, I was actually a bit more organised. I hate to think of it so early, but I really have to these days to get everything sorted so that I don't get stressed. I used to be one of these people who put the tree the sunday before christmas (even if it were the day before christmas eve) and do my christmas shopping on christmas eve... then I had kids... well, that says it all really... you just can't get away with that run around thing, can you? So Christmas Planner here I come...

Love this snowflake paper, I dug it out of a pile of papers I had totally forgotten that I had... don't you just love doing that when you love the paper?

My kids break up for half term today... I am so determined to get them making their own christmas cards for all their school friends and teachers, I have it all organised in a box. Anything different from my son playing games machines... he would be on them all day every day if I allowed it... drives me mad that he never gets fed up... I always have to drag him off!!!!

Am going to enjoy my peace and quiet now, and have a play at another Christmas card! Hope you find time to play too...

Seem to be having trouble uploading piccies today... I actually made two cards yesterday afternoon... inspiration coming from 2Sketches4You. This is one of the Bonus Sketches. Hopefully I can upload the other one at some point today. Still using the sheet of peel offs... quite like this one... I wanted a sentiment on it, but I seem to have one of those days where I couldn't find anything I wanted yesterday!!!!

Seems fitting to keep thinking snowflakes... it was absolutely freezing this morning! Need to dig out my jumpers so that I can wear more layers... I am one of these people who would be happy to hibernate throughout the winter... with internet shopping you can actually imagine yourself making it a reality... well, I can dream!!!! Goodness me... I don't seem to be able to get going on my cards this year!!!!
I had a play and came up with this one... used a peel off... I'm not a lover of peel offs, but seem to have aquired a pile from somewhere and thought I would have a go with these trees... not too bad!!!
Hopefully, I will find some inspiration to make some more... I will be so disappointed with myself if I go back to buying packs of Christmas cards!!!!!

Where has September gone????

I can't believe it's the 1st of October tomorrow... I'm getting old, because I hear myself saying 'where has this month gone?' all the time now... I can't keep up with time... My daughter is in year 5 and we have had invites to High School's already... is this normal? It's not that we haven't thought about it, it's just all coming around so quickly.
Anyway, I have managed to find a little bit of time for myself and made a card... it was inspired by Kazan's sketch #62 over at 2 Sketches 4 You... I made my decorated edge using Martha Stewart punches. I need some more of these, they are so effective!!!! Mind you, I am supposed to be on a stash diet (again!!!!)....

I still haven't made any more Christmas cards... I have cleared tomorrow afternoon for a bit of a crafting session... now I have said this something is bound to happen to spoil it!

Inspiration came from Sketch Saturday week #121 ... what a great sketch! The image is one my mum passed on to me... using some paper and card I had in my scraps folder, believe it or not! I haven't actually got around to buying any new Christmas stash yet...

Hopefully I'm back!!!

Hi,
Just thought I would put a post in to say that I am hoping to get some time to craft tomorrow and over the weekend. Life has been both hard and hectic!

My Aunt died mid-July. We were all devastated and still are. She was such a fighter, my Auntie Kath, she had fought it off before and she so wanted to live to see her Grandchildren grow up. She kept saying she didn't want to die because she wasn't done yet! Her daughters are both devastated of course, and poor Andrea seems so lost as she was still living at home with her mum so was taking care of her. It's a horrible horrible thing. Having said that my Auntie Kath was a lovely woman with a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone and really didn't deserve to suffer the way she did. I am left feeling like someone has stollen something from me and as it is when we lose people we love, I don't think I will ever be quite the same again.

On a brighter note.... my mum and I took the children away for a week (we both needed it I can tell you) to Sussex and we had a relaxing, lovely time and the weather was so good to us... apparently at home it rained nearly all week!

I am hoping to do some crafting, sort my photo's out.... maybe even do some scrapbooking, you never know!!! So hopefully over the next couple of days I will post a pic!

Mojo Monday....

Just when you think I've disappeared forever... I'm back! Inspiration came from Mojo Monday #146... what a great sketch! This is for a friend of mine who loves cake... I mean she LOVES cake!!! She is worse than a kid if she doesn't get a birthday cake... she always buys one herself to make sure she gets one!!!

Suddenly lately I miss decorating cakes... I used to decorate all kinds of special occasion cakes when I worked in a cake shop... Am going to be making my son a cake for Friday... my baby is 8 on friday!!!! I honestly don't know where the time goes... one minute it's January and all of a sudden we've done Easter, then I'm shopping for holiday clothes... I had a meeting about my daughters high school last week... I know she is 9 but it only seems like a couple of years ago we were starting in Reception!!! Suddenly I feel old!!!!!

I'm going to have a nice cup of tea... and do some crafting!!! Think I'm going to be naughty, run the hoover over the living room and leave the ironing til later.... do some crafting instead!!!!

Where does the time go?!!!

I haven't had any time to craft just lately... I don't know where the time goes! I was determined to get up early so that I could make some time this morning... my cards are getting extremely low and I have a load of birthdays coming up all at once so I really need to find some time.

Here is the card I have made this morning... my inspiration came from Friday Sketchers # 109. What a great sketch... all that paper eh?!

Unfortunately my Aunt is not well at all, the chemo is really knocking her about this time and she is in hospital at the moment! I am all of a dither about going down for a visit tomorrow to see her... it's so awkward being so far away. I have no one I can leave the kids with here so I have to take them with me and although they are always pretty good, hospital visits and kids just don't go especially after a 2 hour car drive!!!!

OH has a bug... so of course he is dying... the kids have had it but of course his is much worse!!!! Honestly! My 9 year old daughter said yesterday that daddy was 'such a child'... I think she was selling herself short there because after one day off school, she was back doing her usual stuff and getting on with life... after two days daddy is still dying!!!! Bet he's recovered by Friday... he's off to France fishing!!!!

The children and I are off to Sussex with my mum in a few weeks... lets hope the weather holds out, eh!!!! Hope it's gorgeous where you are too....

Playing nicely!!!

Hi,
I have been playing nicely... My daughter has had this teacher that has been training teaching their class for the last so many weeks and she really has been brilliant! She seems to have a knack at explaining things in a way that my daughter gets totally the first time... which we can't say about her usual teacher. So, all good things seem to come to an end, this teacher is leaving today and a pressie was needed... I found this lovely little key ring with a book on that has 'the best teacher' and lots of lovely appropriate quotes and this is what I made to put it in... and I really did play nicely...

We have 'clock sports' (our equivalent to sports day... which I still don't understand, I don't get all this 'losing damages kids self-esteem' lark... I mean how do they learn to cope with being out in the 'big world' when they can't lose in school?????). Anyway, the sun in nowhere to be seen today... isn't that unbelieveable? I mean it's been glorious here all week!!!! Very disappointing! It hasn't been overly warm but the sun's been shining!!!

Isn't this weather lovely? When the suns shining when I get up, I always seem more enthusiastic to get moving in a morning, don't you?
This morning I made this litte card... based on Laura's sketch # 54 over at 2 Sketches 4 You.... as usual I loved working with it. Again I am digging into my box of bits and bobs that I need to use up... I really enjoyed playing along!

I am actually going to use this card to write a note to my Aunt who is currently having a course of chemo at the moment... I thought I had some rub on's with thinking of you on them but I can't find them anywhere... how irritating!! It's horrible living so far away because you can't just pop round... my OH is so bloody awkward as well when I am trying to organise visiting. Not that he comes with me, or has the kids.... Men!!!!!!!! I won't moan any more!

I am hoping for another play tomorrow morning!

I am hoping to have a trip to Hobbycraft in the morning... I seem to have had no time to myself at all over the last week. I love a stroll around a craft shop... I find I buy more stuff for the kids from Hobbycraft these days because they are always with me, so I thought I'd have a trip there on my own. Treat myself!

Hi,
Having the children at home is keeping me pretty busy... which translates into 'no time for myself'.... this morning I was determined to make at least one card and for some unknown reason it ended up a Christmas card! My inspiration came from Laura's Sketch #53 at 2 Sketches 4 You. Very simple, I think... I like it... The patterned paper is DCWV... one of those pads that seem to go on forever.

The sun is shining here today. It always makes me feel better when there is some sunshine. Today we have to go to Ikea in a little while to get a cupboard for the kids room... I don't like furniture shopping but I love going to Ikea... what a great shop! I always spend a fortune on strange stuff mostly for the kitchen!!!! or storage!!!!! Today I am going to watch my spending... I need a trip to a craft shop for some sticky stuff so if I watch my spending today I'll have more to spend at the craft shop!

Today I have been a good girl, I've been to gym... so I have rewarded myself with a little crafting time... I made this card using stuff from my scrapbox... and I'm really pleased with it! My inspiration came from Our Creative Challenge's sketch, what a fun sketch this was!

Hopefully my OH will be fishing tomorrow, the children at school and I can run around like a looney in the morning to get my jobs done quickly to give myself a decent amount of crafting time! OH is driving me up the wall going around singing Blackpool songs....

Well, I managed to get the children's room decorated at the weekend and it looks so much better. They are pleased with the colours... I just have a bit of glossing to finish and then I am going to make some new curtains...

Decided to have a play with some of that Christmas stuff... and play along with Friday Sketchers # 102... lovely card sketch this one! I actually enjoyed myself...

OH is off friday night this week so I doubt I'll get time to play tomorrow... He's off to see Blackpool at Wembley on saturday so the kids and I are hoping to spend saturday painting their bedroom walls... should be interesting! My mum is coming round to help too... it's the first time they have helped with something like this, I don't think my mum has realised what she has let herself in for!!!! The house looks like a tip now, as we are having to pile their stuff in our room... omg! If I live through it, I might be back here Sunday...

Sketch Thursday's challenge

I love this sketch... it came from Sketch Thursdays Challenge... I used a photo from quite along time ago... of myself and two friends just before Christmas and it gave me an excuse to scrap with some of the stuff I had left over from my Christmas card stash last year...

Today I have been sorting some of craft stuff out... which basically means I pass it from one tub to another thinking I must get around to using these!!!! Have sorted a pile of stuff for my children to use on their school christmas cards for this year... we usually have a few odd sessions in the summer holidays on rainy days, then finish the rest off nearer the time... they have so many because they still send to everyone in their class as well as other friends so it means loads of cards.

Here is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch: # 139 ... this was a fun sketch... I am going to use this as a thank you card... can't find anything with Thank You on at the mo!

I love making cards in purples/lilacs! I seem to be finding all the shortfall's in my stash today... do you have days like that? I think I know what I need... look for it... none left/got nothing like it/wrong colour!!!! etc... so frustrating! I am supposed to be on a stash diet too... mmmm, wonder how long that is going to last!
Anyway... going to make a drink now... I seem to forget to drink when I'm crafting!

Hi,
Ooh... have the house to myself for a few hours... ran round like a looney doing the housework and am now having a play... yeah!!!!
My inspiration came from Laura's Sketch 53 - at 2 Sketches 4 You - and really enjoyed making it... my mum gave me the K&Co quote to make a quick card for one of her friends at work... just hope she likes it... I put a nice friendship verse in the middle too...

My little boy was off school monday with yet another bug... so I missed my monday slot of crafting. I was hoping to make a start on my Christmas cards this week, but haven't had time to sort out my christmas stash. I might have a browse around for a bit more more christmas stash later actually...
I need something to take my mind off the fact that both my children have gone on the same school trip today... so many horrible things happen these days that even though I want them to have a good time and the learning experience, I worry like mad when they go on coaches.

Hi,
One of the main interests in males in our family is football... football mad!!!! Lots of different teams too... and although there is alot of friendly banter, no one is ever disrespectful of anyone elses team - I always think this is great! It encourages the little ones that come along to support a team they want to support!
This means I'm always on the look out for more football stuff for my cards... this one is for my cousins son... cute, eh?

The papers were in a pad I have had forever... think it was a DCWV matting pad or something like that!!! I love it when you can dig something out the cupboard and think 'God, I never thought I would get to use that!!!'

Hope you are all having a good weekend. I decided I am going to redecorate the childrens bedrooms... I was inspired by the 15% off at homebase today! Dear me! I must be mad, luckily both rooms are just painted... not a roll of paper in sight, thank goodness! I hate wall-papering!
Mind you, just because I have bought the paint doesn't mean I've started it yet!!!!! I can see OH rolling his eyes at me already... he had left for work by the time I gotback today so he doesn't know yet!!!

Off to play with some paper for half an hour or so... then I'm going to relax and read!

Mojo Monday # 138

Hope you have all had a good week. I have been busy with college work this week... I seem to have less and less time to myself lately... anyway, I was determined to do come crafting this evening. I need to make a few cards for the next couple of weeks... here is my first. The inspiration came from Mojo Mondays # 138 sketch... what a great sketch!

The papers are papermania... I really like these colours together.

This week I have bought some new stamps from Lily of the Valley... I am hoping to have a play with them later. I also got some new flowers - so much for my stash diet. There are just too many lovely crafting things around! At least OH has missed seeing the little packages coming through the door... we are supposed to be on an agreed cutback of spending money on our hobbies. He wasn't as fortunate as I was... I answered the door to three packages of his fishing stuff, ha!

At least I have paid for the holiday that the children and I are going on with my mum... we usually go to Cornwall, but this year we are going to West Sussex... I'm sure we will enjoy it, lots of stuff for the kids to do... I am missing Cornwall already, I totally love the place and am already saying to myself that we will definately be going back to Cornwall next year, how strange am I!

Anyway, better get on... time seems to move twice as quickly when I get my crafting stuff out... has anyone else noticed this?

Tonight I was so determined to make a card... and here it is... inspiration came from 2 sketches 4 U - Kazan's # 52. What a great sketch... had me thinking as I have let my mum borrow all my border punches... then I found these... K&Co ornaments... and I trimmed them to fit! Talk about resourceful eh????

Best get tidied up and off to bed... might get a bit of time in the morning but I'm not going to count on it!

Hi,
Where does the time go? Last weekend we had a lovely time staying with my sister and my cousins wedding was lovely. A good time was definately had by all... especially the children who got to play and spend time with their cousins. My cousin and her new husband are having a honeymoon in Italy... lovely!!!
There was a sad side to the weekend... one of my Aunt's has cancer and didn't make it to the wedding. She is currently awaiting some treatment. We, of course, went over to see her and she is forever in my thoughts at the moment as we are all desperately hoping for her treatment to work and keeping her thinking positive.
This weekend I am hoping to fit in a little crafting, but I doubt I will have a lot of time... seem to have a lot of things to cram into the day tomorrow!!!
Here is my take on '2 Sketches 4 U - 51'... it is for a teacher at school... my daughter wanted this image to go on the card and I used this sketch as inspiration to complete it...

Sketch Saturday - week #100

I'm finding it hard to relax into my crafting this morning... I keep thinking of stuff I need to do afterwards... that's no good, isn it? I need to make three cards... this is my first... a wedding card for my cousin, she is getting married on saturday. My inspiration came from Sketch Saturday - week #100, lovely sketch... I used basic greys 'bamboo - lilykate' & basic greys 'migration - gypsy' papers... nearly killed me to cut them up, have been admiring them for a long time!!!

I still need to do a wedding anniversary card and a birthday card for a nephew... but I have to go and do some jobs first, so that I can relax a bit more! Stress and crafting just don't go, do they?

Tired but I want to share!!!

This is just a quickie... am absolutely shattered... managed to sort the kids out with stuff for the wedding... just have to find some time to go shopping for myself now... they were really good actually and I ended up taking them out to dinner as a treat!!!
Due to this... I haven't had much time to do much Cybercropping!!! Here are the two LO's I have done!!!! The first one was a stitching one... I loved doing this... it took me ages!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second one is a challenge that had to have a holiday/vacation theme and have water included in it somewhere... another photo I had forgotten about... great to get them in a LO instead of sat in a pile in the cupboard!!!

Hopefully I will have more time tomorrow (yeah, right!!!???!!!)...

Cybercrop....

Hi,
Over at UKScrappers, they are having a Monopoly Cybercrop this weekend... I love doing the classes... I probably won't get to do them all... we have to go shopping for clothes for a wedding tomorrow... I love shopping, but dragging the kids around is no fun... they are either not interested at all, or they want something totally inappropriate!!!!
Anyway... these are the LO's I've done tonight... this one was cutting a frame out freehand with your craft knife... was a tad nervous on this one... but am pleased with the results... took me ages mind you!!!!
This next one... well, they had this painting thing going on with the letters but when I did it, I absolutely hated it and covered it up to use stickies!!!!

This one was a challenge... to use vine... I found this photo, I have no idea where or when it was taken, but thought it was a good photo to use here! And here we have some more of my handmade flowers... I'm loving them, just hope I can be bothered to make some more, it's so easy to just buy certain things rather than make them, isn't it?

Now I am absolutely shattered and am going to bed now...

Two challenges in one card!!!!

Back again!
I have had a lovely play... inspiration coming from two challenges... the front from a lovely sketch at Pixie Cottage Challenge # 15 ... what a gorgeous sketch. I used one of my own flowers, with some stuff from a kit my mum bought me a while back... I also used my new die cut 'Nellie's Multi Frames - Square'...

The inside of the card ... inspiration came from Project Tuesday's Spiral Pop Up card challenge... it's the first time I have done anything like this in the middle of a card, and I can see it becoming a habit, it is so pretty!

Need to get cleaned up... seem to have had most of my crafting stuff out hunting for bits and bobs and now the place looks like something exploded!!!!

On my trips browsing around the internet, I discovered In 2 Stamps... this is a gorgeous blog! Love the cards... they have some blog Candy to celebrate the release of their 5th lot of stamps and they are adorable... well worth checking out!

Well, we have had a beautiful day here... we actually went to the beach! My children are absolutely exhausted... they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and my mum spoilt them buying them lunch out and an ice-cream. I love days like this...

Then I came in and have been playing with my stash... I wanted to use some scraps out of my box and this is the result... with the help of a freebie image, my own flowers and some bling! And more importantly inspiration from Friday Sketchers #98.

Project Tuesday - Card Purse

I swear we have the noisiest neighbours in a morning!!!! Still, getting up early has given me crafting time... Hope the sun is shining where you are... it is here... yippee!!!! Always makes me feel better.
This morning I decided to have a go at Project Tuesdays Card Purse... and here are the results...
I used paper from K&Co's 6x6 Hopsctoch pad... it was really fun to do!

My children's education is a constant concern to me... I am spending so much time now working with my children at home explaining things and working on things to make sure they understand what they have been doing. I don't begrudge this as I know it helps, but I find it frustrating that it seems to be all the basic stuff that in my opinion they go to school to learn... I know I am moaning... but it is a constant battle to get them to do it and I know if they don't they will get left behind. I looked into moving them to other schools in the area and having talked to parents who have moved schools there doesn't seem to be much difference in any of them. I find this so frustrating...

Anyway, off to battle with the adjectives...

This is what I am knitting for my daughter... it's a Girl's Ballet Kimono... It's a free pattern she found herself, believe it or not... she chose the wool... I will take a photo when I'm done. I have done the back and am working on the one side at the mo! Haven't done any knitting in a long time... probably not since I was pregnant... so it feels very strange but I am enjoying it!

See... I have had some fun this morning... done hardly any housework this morning...

Am going to finish my pile of ironing and maybe sneak in a bit of knitting before we go to the gym... my son has football, my daughter goes in the pool with Daddy and I get to do a workout in the gym!!! Nearly kills me but I do feel better for the regular exercise. Need to cut out a few naughty things from my diet and I might actually lose some weight!!!!

Mojo Monday #134

This morning I have made three cards... this is my first... using Mojo Monday's sketch #134... The paper is from a Papermania pad called Simply Elegant that has sat in the cupboard forever!!!! The image is from a sheet of Teddy Bear stickers that I don't seem to be able to use up!!!

Today OH's gone fishing and the children are happy playing on the games machines (bad parenting!!!!!) so mummy gets to play!!!!!
I have been rummaging through the back of the cupboard and found some more things I forgot I had... thats where the papermania pad came from... also found a lovely little book of journalling tags... might get me to do some scrapbooking!!!! And some great buttons...
Back in a bit with another photo!!!!

Memory like a sieve!!!!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We spent most of it round my mums... been visiting craft shops but didn't find anything really to spend my money on... how is that????!!!!! In the end my daughter talked me into knitting her this crop cardi she found a free pattern for on the internet... so I spent my money on new needles (normally I just borrow my mums) and some wool... I would post a picture but I have left my camera at my mum's house.
Luckily she is dropping it round in the morning... yey!!!!! I'm lost without it!
So no piccies today!!!!
Anyway... hope the week has started well for you...

Mojo Monday sketch #133

Good morning!!!
I got up early this morning and rather than launch into the ironing, I made this card instead!!! disgraceful, I know... but I enjoyed it a lot more, I can tell you... I used the lovely sketch on Mojo Monday - #133...

I resisted putting one of my new flowers on ... more suitable for the boys then...
I'm disappointed it is not as sunny as yesterday... typical when we are going out... The worst thing about this weekend is we need to shop for my son's new school shoes. He hates shopping anyway, but shopping for shoes with him is a nightmare ... new football boots are different, trainers are different, but any other kind of shoes and he really does expect to walk into the first shop, try a pair on and buy those!!!!
Anyway, won't be doing that today... wouldn't want to upset him when I want to go in a craft shop or two... we do a deal with craft shops and parks or similar... I am finding that if I mention a craftshop they are more enthusiastic and begin negotiating about something or somewhere they want to go and it is actually becoming easier to fit one in now... Will have a bit of a flit around make it look like I've been doing something other than crafting this morning, eh????

A sign the kids are off!!!!

It's true... I can't seem to get any time to myself this week at all. I have actually managed to make up a few flowers using the cricut cuts I did... here is a piccie... I have some pink ones to still make up yet... I can't wait to use them on something...

My daughter has bought 'Just Dance' on the Wii and quite frankly it makes a good workout... mind you I notice I seem to put more effort in than my daughter... she typically stands there half the time just shaking the controller in just the right spots!!!!! Still it is good fun! ... though I'm shattered now... ha!!!

Tomorrow we are going out for the day with my mum... I fully intend to make a stop or two at a couple of craft shops and have a little treat!!!! Then tomorrow evening hopefully I will get some crafting time to make at least a card or two!!!!

Friday Sketchers #95

Hi,
Hope you are having a good week. I didn't get a chance to craft at the weekend. OH had an accident at work on friday night, so he was home for the rest of the weekend. He is ok now and on a course today... as the children break up Thursday I thought I would give myself a craft day as I have the house to myself.
I used Friday Sketchers #95 as inspiration to make this card... it is for my friends Dad, I always have to think more about men's cards... luckily I had this lovely little DIY image... and it went perfectly with this sketch.

Well, off to do some more... need to make 2 more cards today. It's so easy to spend lots of time browsing and end up with very little crafting time, isn't it? So many beautiful websites/blogs with so many wonderful creations and inspirational video's to look at.

Hope you had a nice weekend... mine was busy and good... not as much crafting time as I would have liked... Popped to the local garden centre and picked up a 'do-crafts' craft bag... think it was February's... all yellow/orangey... my mum and I shared it between us.
So with the inspiration from Sketch Saturday #95 and the lovely bright colours in the kit... I made this card... It is a Daisy and Dandelion stamp that I have had for a while...

I love the bright colours... it's raining here today, but it still makes me feel all warm and spring-like just working with them... hope the sun is shining wherever you are.

Wow! Friday already... thank goodness! Means I get some craft time... I have made this card for a friend of mine... thanks to 2 Sketches #48 for inspiration... I knew what colours I wanted and the images, but the inspiration came from a lovely sketch...

There are some gorgeous fairy images around these days... I have always had a soft spot for the flower fairies. I can remember having a poem book as a little girl and I lost it when we moved when I was 11. I also lost my Tiny Tears doll at the same time... infact a whole load of our toys disappeared... my mum even went back to our old house to see if we had left the boxes somewhere but they weren't there... funny how you remember certain things forever, isn't it?

My little boy is home with me today. He has another bug from school... a sickness bug has been going round all week! My children eat lots of fruit and vegetables... I cook fresh food, make sure they have their 5 a day and all their vitamins, etc... yet they seem to catch everything!!!!

Anyway, off to tidy up my little mess here...

Sketch Saturday #94

Hi,
Back again... decided to make another boy card... using Sketch Saturday #94... great sketch... Loved playing along. Put some lovely buttons on for a change... I tend to use buttons alot in my scrapbooking, but rarely on cards... I often wonder if non-crafting people that I send my cards to are thinking why is she putting buttons on a card?????

Off to bed in a sec... suddenly gone really tired... hopefully will get some crafting time tomorrow.

Mojo Monday 129

Hope all you Mummy's had a great Mothers Day. I had a lovely day with my mum and my children... OH is on nights so he was in bed!
I have been playing along with Mojo Monday 129 ... my nephew is football mad, so I made this for him... Lovely sketch, great cards from the DT too.

Anyway, I am going to have a glass of wine and do a bit of scrapbooking...

Butterflies

Hi,
Having pushed myself to do my jobs quickly this morning... gave me a little bit of time to squeeze in some crafting... do you find yourself doing this? Anyway, thought I would share before I have to start rushing around again... we have swimming and shopping this afternoon.
I took inspiration from Charisma Cardz Challenge .

It is butterflies... I love butterflies. Last year on holiday in Cornwall, we walked along a public footpath that took us through a field that had the most butterflies I have ever seen in one place. It was gorgeous! Strangely enough my daughter was a bit scared of them as they fluttered around us! My son thought they were like fairies... a very sweet comment from a little boy!

More scrapping!

Well, I didn't get the card stuff out... I decided to scrap another couple of the photo's that I found. I was inspired by a sketch on My Little Sketch Blook ... beautiful work on this blog!

I enjoyed making this page... it was fun to play! I have been listening to 'Girls Night In 80's' on Magic ... blasts from the past!!!!!

Hope you have had a good week...
I have been sorting some things out and found some stray photo's so I thought I'd use some of them on the Sketchy Thursday 3.11 sketch. I really enjoyed doing this page, I used all stuff I have had in the cupboard forever too!!! The paper is called 'Morning on the Hearth' from the Basic Grey 'Stella Ruby' collection... isn't that a great name!

Today I found a new recipe for a Chocolate Orange Cake which went down really well with the children... I love baking, it's one of my favourite things, trying new recipes. Sometimes I miss decorating cakes... it's such a fun thing to play with!!!!!

I am going to play with my card making stash now...

Bird house...

Here I am again!
I have been having a play along with Project Tuesdays - Bird House challenge. I couldn't find any birds though!!!!! So I used a butterfly instead! Apart from listening to my children bickering away in the background... I really enjoyed myself. Think I might make some of these for easter and pop some mini-eggs in... very sweet!
