Something different....

Hi,
Thought I'd pop in and show what I have been doing the last couple of days... I decided to crochet a lightweight blanket for my son to bring downstairs... he keeps using bed blankets and all his cuddly toys keep ending up everywhere, so I thought we could keep this somewhere he can grab it without turning his room into a bomb site!!!! He's such a cuddly little boy, he loves a warm cuddly blanket... he chose the colours himself. I am very pleased with myself, haven't done any crocheting in a long time and did wonder if I could remember how to do it... like riding a bike....!!!! To be honest, I have felt really awful the last couple of days and it's been quite theraputic making this blanket...

Hopefully, I will get some card making time... I have three birthday cards to make for next week...

Mojo Monday - 173

Hi,
Well, today I have finally had time to make a card... My stash needs a good clear out after the disorganised mess it seems to have been left in after making my Christmas cards and what not!!!! I'm ok when I get started, it's just the getting started!!!
Anyway, I love this sketch from Mojo Monday - 173 - this is my take on it... I ended up using a couple of my daughters stickers because I couldn't find anything mermaid-ish in my stash... does the job!!!!

I have actually been concentrating on some cross stitch that I want to get finished... Christmas ones that I don't want to put away to finish later in the year because, of course, they never get finished, do they?!!!!

I have also been spending alot of time reading and looking at lots of wonderful craft sites and blogs and have found some very inspiring ideas. I am hoping that I am going to be a bit more adventurous with my crafting this year... and I found some great new recipes for cakes!!!! I love to bake cakes... my children love cupcakes, so I love to discover new recipes and ideas... I want to get one of those giant cupcake cases... it's a passion my OH actually approves of and never moans about any mess because he has a sweet tooth!!!! ha!

Anyway, better get moving... have to go and get the kids!

Happy New Year!

Hi,
Hope you are all happy and enjoyed the holidays... happy New Year! We had a lovely Christmas at home, then an even lovelier New Year holiday at my sisters with my family and friends. My daughter turned 10 years old... double figures now!!! And now it's hard work getting everything and everyone back to normal!!!!

All the decorations have now gone, and I am being a good girl making some Christmas tags with some of our Christmas cards... Usually I leave it until later in the New Year, but I decided it would take up less space if I actually made them now.

I am also working on some cross stitching... I will take a photo when I am done, which hopefully will be in the next few days!!!! I have some Cross Stitch UFO's that I want to get finished... I keep them in a basket and have recently realised it is getting out of hand!!!!

I am on the look out for some new challenges... to help me keep on track with my cards, and also to give me some inspiration and to keep me crafting!!!

The snow is back today and I am having one of those days that I just can't stay warm, even as I type this my fingers are freezing... heatings going to have to go back on soon I think...

Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Hi,
Just wanted to pop on and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.... hope you all had a lovely day yesterday and the rest of the holiday is warm and fun!
Honestly I felt absolutely exhausted last night and was glad when our last guest had gone, the children went to bed, just so that I could go to bed... We had a lovely Christmas day, I really enjoyed myself, but as I said very tired... Today apart from cooking the dinner, I am doing nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had an ebook but was too tired to even think of having a play... so thats what I am off to do now!

Mojo Monday 168

Hi,
Here is my take on the Mojo Monday Sketch #16... I enjoyed this one... nice sketch to work from.


I have my son at home from school, he has had a really high temperature for the last couple of days. Thankfully he seems much better today... driving me up the wall because he is bored now he feels better... back to school tomorrow I think!!!! This of course means all those things I was planning to do this week have gone out the window!!!! So next week I will be running around like an idiot getting everything sorted before they break up next friday. I love how everything always goes to plan!!!!

Well, better get on... need to make a couple more cards... am getting to the point where it's just close family members I need cards for... YAY!!!!!!!

Scrapbooking... weekend cybercrop at UKS

Hi,
This weekend my crafting has been scrapbooking... UKS have had a cybercrop and I have attempted a few of the classes and challenges. I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to have (but when do we ever!!!) so I am going to do the others some other time. I had fun with these layouts though...



These photos were from Blackpool... I've had these Adornit papers for quite a while and just seem to stroke them alot... lovely to find a use for them!

A visit to Santa... this was last year... don't suppose they will want to do that this year... more old Christmas stash...

I took these photo's in Lytham on Christmas eve a couple of years ago... it was a beautiful warm day and we had a lovely time, there was ice-skating, street entertainers and we had some delicious homemade vegetable soup... The children even played in the park!

This was one of the classes... My daughter learning to skip a few years ago now... I really enjoyed doing this layout, the sewing was fun, I don't do enough of it...

I have been using up stash I have had for ages too which is brilliant... might make some room for some new papers, eh? Any excuse to shop...

I still have some Christmas cards I need to get done, and I want to make a couple of gift cards and gift boxes...

Suddenly it has gone really chilly again here. I am going to have an early night tonight. My son has been suffering with a horrible cold all weekend and I think I might be getting it...

Sketch Saturday #131

Hi,
Well, we are still escaping the snow... but it's very cold!!!! Roll on the summer, eh?!!!

This card was inspired by the sketch @ Sketch Saturday #131, great sketch to work with... I am having a crafting afternoon, so hopefully will be back later with another image or so.

I am planning on putting the Christmas tree up tomorrow, so want to get as much done as possible today... also tomorrow UKScrappers are having a Cyber Crop which I am hoping to play along with tomorrow night... I tried so hard to keep the whole weekend so that I would have lots of time to play along and suddenly things are piling up... typical!!!!
