Mojo Monday # 184

Hi, My card today is for someone who is handbag-mad!!!! My inspiration came from the sketch over at Mojo monday #184, I enjoyed playing along...

Only thing is I seem to have done something to my hand as I was doing housework yesterday... (always knew it was bad for me!!!!) ... luckily my left hand... but everything hurts... using scissors is a nightmare... yes, I use the scissors in my right hand but holding whatever it is I am cutting really hurts!!! I have a rather nasty bruise and am hoping that is all it is and it goes away!!! But it's amazing what you can do with just one hand... but it is amazing how you rely on the back up of the other one, isn't it? Peeling vegetables is a no-no... I also realised that I am too independent about household chores and cooking... my family are just not being trained properly... the hassle we had yesterday over them peeling a few potatoes!!!! I put the carrots back in the fridge!!!! it just wasn't worth the hassle!!!! My OH really is useless in the kitchen, I know I always say it but mainly because he never helps... but he really is useless!!!

Anyway, am off to attempt some ironing... really I should probably rest it, but I am rubbish at sitting still doing nothing... I cannot sit and just watch tv... I have to be doing something at the same time!!!

Friday Sketchers # 146

Hi,
Have been busy this week... only time I have had for crafting I have used to crochet more flowers for my flower blanket! However this morning I had a play as I need a card for my friends Dad... he is always getting roped into DIY especially now he is retired!!! My inspiration came from Friday Sketchers #146... great sketch... the papers I used are October Afternoon... gorgeous!!!!


I am hoping to find some time tomorrow... I need to make another couple of cards for next week...
Hope the weather is as lovely where you are as it is here today... the sun is definately smiling! My cat is in his element... he is out worshiping the sun... you can actually see him smiling back!!!

Friday Sketchers #145

Hi,
Hope you are happy and feeling well.
I have been having a play... the inspiration for this card came from Friday Sketchers #145 sketch... gorgeous! Beautiful DT cards... This is using some bits from my scrapbox... not a 12x12 in sight when I was making this one... yay!!!!!

I used one of my flowers that I made with one of my new Marianne creatable dies that I got with some of my birthday money... really enjoyed making them... below is picture of all the ones I made... want to dig out some different types of papers and have another go later... I think they are very pretty, but I need to get some more ribbon!!! Suddenly all my ribbon seems wide!!!

These are the butterflies... I actually had a few more but DD came along and suddenly had cards to make for school friends!!!! and my pile got smaller!!!

This week I decided to make my take on my Grandma's Victoria Sandwich cake... will be baking cupcakes tomorrow... somehow I have got roped into baking cupcakes for the school for fridays Red Nose Day...

Anyway, have a couple more Marianne dies to play with this afternoon. Hope you are having a great day.

Mojo Monday 181

Hi,
Goodness me, it's cold and windy here today... was going out but decided to stay in and play instead... I am trying to use up stuff in my scrapbox again... this card was inspired by a gorgeous sketch on Mojo Monday - #181 ... some lovely DT cards ...

Yesterday I made Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes... yummy... they don't last long in our house so I am always lucky if I manage to get a picture!!!!

I am now going to have a play with a new Marianne creatable die cut I got this morning...

Catching up!

Hi,
Well, last week didn't quite go as planned... First, we had a virus from hell on the other computer, then OH had his bank card cloned and money taken out of his account in Argentina???!!! Then his mother finally lost the plot!!! To be fair, they are having loads of problems with sorting out their house after an electric fire blew up in their living room, but she won't let anyone help (says they are interfering!!!) but seems to make it worse herself all the time!!! Steve is tearing his hair out (not that he has a lot,ha!!!!!). The whole thing (after it dragging out five weeks and them having to move out of their home into a hotel) has got so out of hand, it is making her ill and more eccentric than she normally is!!!!
Anyway, enough of that! I haven't done much crafting really... made this card for an Aunt...


this one for my cousins son... my attempt at being groovy... ha!!!


And, finally I had some peace and quiet last night and started crocheting these flowers, which I intend to put together to make a throw!

My birthday was a bit of a no-go-er because of all the problems with OH's Mum, but I do have some birthday money to spend on crafting stash... and my mum is going to take myself and the children out next weekend for lunch at one of our favourite eating places as a late birthday treat! So I am looking forward to that...

Gosh, it seems cold this morning... off to turn up the heating I think....

Firstly I have to say a huge Thank You to Karen who has very nicely given me a Stylish Blogger Award... I am totally blown away that you think my humble blog is worthy of an award and you have really made my day... {{{Hugs}}}... If you haven't checked out Karen's lovely blog I have put a link...

1. I love crafting... I mean all things crafting... I drag people round art galleries, craft galleries, shops that sell hand-crafted items, shops that sell crafting stash, the lot!!!!

2. I love the sea... the beach ... I wish I lived closer... we live about a 15 minute drive away, but I would love to be able to walk to it!

3. I miss living by my sister all the time... she is my best best friend and even though I have lived a 2 hour drive away from her for 11 years now and I still want to walk round to her house for a coffee and a chat!!!

4. I love Duran Duran!!!! Yes, a Duranie!!!!! I am so looking forward to going to see them in May with my sister!!!!

5. I love music actually... I have a massive collection of music... I love lots of different types of music too.

6. I don't like rudeness... I think so many people are rude these days... why is this?

7. I love Italian food!!!

8. My favourite job was decorating cakes in a cake shop... that was a fun job!!!

As promised, here are the pictures of the pages from my Cornwall mini-book... yes, Mandy, it is Looe... my absolute favourite place for a holiday... I actually just LOVE Cornwall!!!

We have been away visiting family so haven't got any crafting done over the weekend, I love going to stay with my sister and her lovely family... kids love to spend time with their cousins... so a good time was had by all... Finished my mini book at last!!!

Hi,
Well, my son ended up having the sickness bug that my daughter had over the weekend... (that school is sooooo disease ridden!!!!)... so less crafting time than I had originally hoped for... They have both spent time this morning making birthday cards for my OH and myself for next week... strangely enough we share the same day... when he first told me this I thought he was kidding... but no, although he is two years older than me, we actually do have the same birthday on 2nd March... weird eh???? It has it's good points... he's never going to forget my birthday, is he????

I managed to finish my mini-book of our holiday in Cornwall... I would show you pictures of the inside pages too, but my camera battery went dead and is now charging in the kitchen... typical!!!
I have also finished my cross stitch my stocking shaped house... I will post a picture of that tomorrow. I am so pleased with it, it's so cute. I don't really want to do it as an actual stocking because we have loads so I think I am going to make it into a cushion cover... will have to see!!!
Am hoping to have some time for a card or two later... hope you are having a happy sunny day.
