Mojo Monday 215

Hi,

It's been ages since I blogged... infact I haven't done a lot of crafting either... I am now very behind with my Christmas cards... am hoping for some free afternoons later in the week!

Still don't have my laptop working... think I am going to need to buy a new one!!! I miss it terribly, just can't seem to get to grips with this desktop... and I have to sit in Steve's room too!!!

Anyway, this evening I had a play after sorting abit of stuff out ready for my sessions and took inspiration from a sketch over at Mojo Monday... really enjoyed playing along! Don't you just love that DCWV paper!!!

Will hopefully be back tomorrow evening with something to show for my freed up afternoon...

I have been making lists to get myself organised for 'getting ready for Christmas' ... list after list after list... serves me right, I should have made a planner, I usually do!

Having a Play!!!!

Hey...
Hope you are well and happy.
Still don't have my laptop fixed... I feel so lost without it!!!! Anyway, I thought I would take the opportunity with the house being empty to show you what I have been playing with lately...

I am trying to make some Christmas cards... We seem to send out loads these days, so I am leaving my 'special family' cards for a while and just concentrating on making all the others. I really want to get them done a bit earlier this year!!!!

I have been playing with my Cuttlebug and dies... I love the snowflakes and christmas tree's... and I have been digging out old patterned paper that I get out each year and don't use!!! The trees are in some lovely Doodlebug paper that I have had forever... I did one scrapbook page with some and just left the rest... I think it works nicely on these cards...

These I did with some mulberry paper that I found in the same box... it was one of those impulse buys that I thought looked pretty but never actually had a use for!!!

And these were jusing some bits and bobs too.... I seem to have a whole pile of stuff that I have no idea where they came from at all!!!!

I also crocheted my daughter a headband, I knitted her a blue one too, but I couldn't find that one to take a picture!!! There seem to be alot around the shops at the moment... trouble is she wants one in every colour!!!! Luckily they don't take long to make!

I also crocheted her this little bag... she is forever taking books and magazines to read in the car, so I crocheted her this to carry them in and out of the house, instead of us finding a whole pile on the back seat!!!

And lastly, I had a play at a making an ornament picture with buttons... found it on a challenge site that I have forgotten about at the beginning of the summer holidays... it was fun to do, just need to stitch some ribbon on it so that I can hang it up when Christmas gets nearer!

Catching up!

Hi,
Hope you have been having a lovely summer... I have been enjoying having my children around, though I think they are ready to go back to school now...
The bad news is my laptop seems to have a serious problem... looks like I am going to have to find somewhere to take a look at it... I miss it like mad. I hardly use our main computer (it is impossible to get onto, to be honest)!!!!!
I do have some crafting pictures to share with you... I am hoping to get back on here tonight to upload the pictures and share what I have been doing!
In my browsing I discovered this lovely blog called Scrappin' For Kenzie... lovely scrapbook layouts if you want a browse and you could check out the giveaway (pic below) which looks incredible... finishes today so you best be quick!!!!

The weather here is dull and we have a trip to the dentist this afternoon, lets hope the rain holds off.... then we can have a walk along the beach!!!

Cards for Men...

Good morning...
I always seem to struggle with cards for men, mostly because I never have anything in my stash suitable... I need to buy stuff with this in mind more often... My inspiration for this card came from Cards for Men, the challenge being to use a key. I will remember to follow this challenge from now on, I need a supply of male cards!

The children break up today... I just hope the weather is going to be a bit more child-friendly from now on... I am hoping to go looking for a bit of Christmas stash, get them making their Christmas cards... it's ok leaving a few for a pre-Christmas crafting session but it's such hard work if they have many to make and I swear my two send cards to nearly everyone!!!! I have noticed a few Christmas cards appearing now so I'm not the only one... I was still making the odd one last year the week before... I am determined to be more organised!!!! Plus it's an excuse for a crafting shopping trip... if I pick the right shops the children actually enjoy it (although it costs me twice as much!!!!).

Hope it's bright and sunny where you are... hasn't made it's mind up here yet!!!!

Sketch Thursday - 7.14

Hi,
Have been playing with some old papers this morning... inspiration for this layout came from Sketch Thursday 7.14... I have only to fill in the journaling but I can't seem to find a suitable pen...
Nice and simple... the days when it was easy to occupy them all day... suddenly now they are bored after 20 minutes whatever we do... Mine break up for the summer on Thursday, as I have a few things to do tomorrow I decided that today would be a quiet me-day and I am enjoying having a play. I will be back with a card or two later.

I'm back!!!

Hi,
Today I made a card... I haven't really been doing much crafting lately... My OH has been totally stressing me out... I'm not going to get all personal here because my blog is about my crafting, lets just say that I need to get back into my crafting for some relief and just maybe I will stay sane through out all this!!! Life can be such hard work sometimes and I am feeling very low at the moment!

Anyway, the card... inspired by a sketch I found when browsing. The blog is Kathy's Waffle Sketch File. The card is for an Aunt, but the photo really doesn't do it justice... the faded image of the cottage is really sweet!


As I am sorting through my crafting, I am finding some lovely papers that I had forgotten about... I have found some wonderful goodies that I am keen to have a play with...

I also found some bits of old wool that I have been making into little doily mats for my daughters room which she loves... I am actually trying to teach her to crochet but of course, as she is 10 she is full of enthusiasm but a little short on patience. By the end of the summer I am sure she will have it!

This is a blanket that I am crocheting like mad for our next camping trip... we went away last weekend to try our new tent and it was 100% easier than our last one. I am not really a camping person, but my kids love it... We now have camp beds, carpet and I am getting to grips with the limited kitchen facilities. The weather was absolutely gorgeous... lets hope it's like that when we go away again!!!

I have also made my own version of a Smash book, which I couldn't find to take a photo to include in this post... must be upstairs somewhere... I am really enjoying playing with that. Somewhere to finally put all those little tickets and things that I keep!

Now I am going to do a little more of my blanket... hope you are well and happy. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Posting these again... a card and a scrapbook layout

Well, I don't know what happened to yesterdays post... so I am reposting... for some reason I haven't been able to get on blogger all day... obviously some kind of glip!!!!
Anyway, here is my card... I discovered Sweet Sketch Wednesday and just had to play along... lovely blog, if you haven't already you should check it out!


I also enjoyed playing with this scrap booking page... inspiration came from Sketch Thursday... it was actually last weeks sketch, but I really wanted to have a go... I really need to get stuck into some scrapbooking...



Well.... as I said, don't know what happened to this post from Thursday... very odd!!!
