Friday Sketchers #71

Here is my take on the Fridays Sketchers 71 - I love this little bear he is so cute...

The weekend seems to have flown by... I'm working on some little gift bags for 'teachers gifts' for christmas believe it or not... My children always want to send to every teacher they have anything to do with... this kind of adds up! So I am going to make gift bags, decorate them with the kids and fill them with sweets/chocolates...

When we have done a couple I will post a photo...

Anyway, going to watch the X Factor...

Squiggle Candy!

I have just discovered this lovely looking blog candy on the Squiggle Stamps Blog - link at the side. I am still struggling with linking everything together - but isn't this a great selection of Candy!
The blog is also lovely for a browse too if you haven't discovered it yet...

Friday Caardvarks Sketchfest

Here is my Friday take for the Sketchfest at Caardvarks...
I actually want to find some lettering to put a family greeting on it... I need to plough through my stuff, I know I have some rub ons somewhere... I hate it when I know I have something I want to use but am not sure where it is, it's amazing how often I don't actually find it in time to use on a project, then months later it shows up in the most unlikely place. Shows my crafting stuff needs a good sort out! It all looks pretty tidy but believe me it isn't!!!

Today, I had some wonderful new Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour Paints arrive... they are just so pretty. Unfortunately I am not going to get to play with them probably until next week, but it gives me something to look forward to. I also treated myself to the My Minds Eye Bloom & Grow Decoupage pad of flowers... I am looking forward to doing something with those too.

Well, off to make Apple Tray Bake for this little ones to munch on ...
Have a lovely day

Thursday Caardvarks sketch

Hi,
Just couldn't find the time to make any cards yesterday... Here is my take on Thursdays Sketch.
I am so pleased my pile of Christmas cards is now growing and starting to look like I am getting somewhere. Only thing is, my children are starting to write their Christmas lists because I am making them feel all festive... not sure whether that is good or not!!! It's a nice thought to be honest, being organized early for christmas, but then again I think a bit of running around adds to the spirit.
Anyway, am going to have a browse...

Caardvarks Tuesday Sketch

Here is my take on todays sketch over at the Caardvarks Sketchfest...

The paper I used kind of took over in the end... it just seemed too nice to cover up too much... I almost gave up on it and started again.
Lovely samples today again!
Happy crafting...

Rosie-Dee's challenge - Stars & Stripes

Hi,
My first card today was inspired by Rosie-Dee's Challenge - the theme is Stars & Stripes, which is perfect for Christmas cards...

Luckily my OH has gone fishing this afternoon, which gives me more crafting time, I am organized with dinner for a change... so the afternoon is mine! It always goes to quick though!
Hope you are able to find time to craft today too.

Mojo Monday challenge

Hi,
Well, I don't have a circle cutter and I discovered today I can not cut decent circles... ha! So we have rounded square shapes... it was the best I could do I'm afraid! So this is my take on sketch 105, what a fun sketch this one was... loved it!
Loved the DT's cards... lovely samples!

Christmas Cards and stitching!

Hi,
Here is my Christmas take on the Monday sketch for Caardvarks Sketchfest...

This is such a fun idea... hopefully I will be back with another one tomorrow!

Here are my Christmas cross stitch pictures... this one is called Santa's Giant Book... I want to make this into a cushion.

This smaller one, I will make into an ornament, is a Waxing Moon chart that I have had for ages... I like to do quick-stitch patterns while I am doing the more time consuming ones, just makes me feel like I am getting somewhere...

I need to upload a couple of other challenges which will follow this post!
Hope you are having a lovely day...

More Christmas cards

Well, I have made a couple more cards today to add to my growing pile of Christmas cards. I am so pleased with myself. I love working with these colours... usually I am so determined to keep everything traditionally red, gold and green, so this is a real change for me.

This card was my 'take' on the sketch 35 for 2 sketches 4 you, which I really enjoyed making. There are so many lovely cards on this blog, I spent far too much time browsing which is why I have only had time to make two christmas cards!!!!

Another of my favourite things to do, as I watch tv usually, is cross stitch. I have just completed a Santa picture that I am so proud of and want to make it into a christmas cushion. I haven't done this before so should be interesting. I am now finishing off 'Christmas Cheer Angel' (Waxing Moon Designs) for an ornament. I always have to make a few each year... my OH just rolls his eyes at me when I start a new one. But then again, I roll my eyes when he's talking about his fishing (yawn!!!)... we all have our 'things', don't we? I will take some photos of my cross stitch tomorrow so that I can post them on here.

Anyway, off to round the children up... at least there is no homework tonight!

Mojo Monday #104

Hi,
Here is my offering for challenge 104... I don't have anything to cut circles with so I off centred everything to give it a bubble-look... well, thats what I told myself anyway. I have made this for a cousin of mine who loves teddy bears. The pp is from a matting pad of DCWV girlie 'nursery' range. So gorgeous! I love DCWV pp's... to be honest, I just love patterned paper. I have to stop myself buying more, I already buy too much but even though I have lost my scrapping mojo I still buy stuff to scrap with for when I get back into it - trouble with this is, I have to ask myself if I will use it all as I keep piling it up... I need to go on a stash diet! OH NO! such a horrid thought...
On that note, I will add that this weeks cards are wonderful on the Mojo Monday blog. What a wonderful way to share what everyone does, I am finding it very inspirational. Now I just need to get on with my christmas cards...
Happy crafting,
Kim

Beautiful things we find on the net!

Hi,
Today we have swimming lessons right in the middle of the day so everything has to fit around getting to the swimming baths on time... luckily today we only needed a quick trip to the supermarket for some odd things for us and the garden centre for fish food.

So having done dinner early, Daddy on nights and the children occupied playing, this leaves Mummy time to browse and play...

The above is what I found... aren't these products absolutely gorgeous... I so want to play with them. What a lovely place to have a browse... I need some inspiration for my scrapbooking, I seem to have lost my mojo abit! It's so frustrating when all this lovely new stash is coming out and I have to stop myself buying it because I have so much that I haven't used. Can you really have too much????
Anyway, on with the christmas cards...

Mojo Monday challenge

Hi,
I loved making this card for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I am very new to stamping and this is the first image I have put onto a card. It was nerve-wrecking and fun at the same time. There are so many talented people that make beautiful cards using stamps that I was so nervous at using the lovely stamps I have got. This one was just a free one that came with a crafting magazine.

I need more practise... I need more crafting time.

I have been making birthday cards. The boys/men in our family tend to be football mad so I have made a couple and my son says they are cool! I used images from a CD-Rom because I have nothing really for making boys/men cards... my stash seems very girlie!

I also made this Under the Sea card for my cousins little boy.

When the children are settled I am going to make a couple more christmas cards. My OH is on nights so there is no one to moan if I spread out a bit!!!
Thank you for looking. I hope your day happy and sunny.
Kim

Caardvarks challenge - my take on sketch 3

Hi,
Well, here is my take on sketch 3... another holiday card... I enjoyed this, I have a small star border punch that I haven't used before that I picked up in a sale and thought it was the perfect time to have a play.

As the children are back at school, I have actually had a bit of time to myself and have made more cards... I always seem to struggle with boy/men cards... hopefully I will find a bit of time later to upload some more photos.
I am suffering withdrawal symptoms this week, I caught up on the washing after our week away on the Isle of Wight and I need to start work on the decorating but can't seem to find the motivation! We liked the Isle of Wight that much we have booked to go again next summer already! What a lovely place! I don't know if there were any shops that sold scrapbooking/card making stash on the Isle of Wight, and we didn't stumble on any, so I have some spare money for stash this week too.
Anyway, need to go and hoover.
Happy Crafting!
Kim
