Hi,
Hope you are having a lovely weekend...  and keeping warm... it has gone really quite cold all of a sudden!
My card today is a Christmas one... inspiration came from the sketch over at Mojo Monday # 264... enjoyed playing very much... have also spent alot of time cutting out flowers and snowflakes ready to get cracking on my cards for Christmas... doubt I will make my original target for finishing them but am going to get stuck in this week...

I have actually been making lots of lists and sorting out what I need to do and buy and in what order.  My Christmas planner is busy busy busy...  children are off this week, so am going to get them crafting too.  And theres the Christmas cake to bake too...

Sketch Saturday #229

Hi,
Aren't I doing well this weekend.... My inspiration today came from Sketch Saturdays lovely sketch #229... there are some lovely example cards over there, it is well worth a visit... I used some papers from an old DCWV pad that I have about a third of left... lovely colours...

We have had a nice sunday... went to my Mum's for dinner which was lovely and makes me feel abit spoilt, not having to cook.  We are planning a joint crafting session soon, we haven't done it for ages and it's always fun... so long as the kids are sorted with something to do, of course!

Hope you have had a lovely weekend.
Take care

Sketch N Stash - Challenge 98

Hi...
Wow... back so soon... blimey, I can't believe I've actually made  another one in one week... I am doing well!  for me that is!!!
Today's card was inspired by a lovely sketch over at Sketch N Stash - challenge 98...  My old stash that I am using is a small paper pad that I have had for a couple of years and yes... there are some peel offs on there.  Thats the thing about doing out the crafting stuff, you even find the stuff you thought you would never use and I was determined to put peel offs on this one!!!!!  I am actually quite pleased with the results!

I really want to get stuck into my Christmas crafting... I am already plotting certain types of gifts for certain people so that I can make fancy bags and boxes!!!  I actually sat down with my Christmas Planner (which I am so glad to say I made in January before I lost sight of my Christmas crafting stash) and have made some very useful lists today!  Of course, I am trying to keep it low key or the kids will start making Christmas list now that will end up the size of the argos catalogue and my OH will think I've gone completely mad... he is one of these odd folk that litterally leaves all his gift buying until Christmas Eve, runs around as I stay home and bake cookies or something with the kids and have a calm day, and then he falls asleep before the kids because he is worn out after a rather rushed visit to his mum's and a pint in the pub!!!!  Leaving me to get everything ready for Christmas day on my own... hence why I like to be so organised... plus all my family live in Staffordshire and I like to deliver the presents a couple of weekends before Christmas (weather depending).  It's nice actually because the children, my mum and myself have a lovely Christmassy weekend with the relatives and friends and Daddy gets to work!!!! ha!  He really does think that Christmas only needs one day to prepare for!!!!

Enough of that... off to play with paper...
Have a lovely weekend...

Mojo Monday 262

Hi,
Hope you are well and happy... the weather doesn't look well and happy today here, but I have to say I have enjoyed our little spell of dry weather...  it's lovely to get the sheets blowing on the washing line (good job I do them early in the week, eh?!).
I have finally had some new cupboards for the cupboard under the stairs... which is where I am keeping my craft stuff (well, some of it anyway)... now I don't know how to organize everything... how can it be so complicated!!!!  Must be me!  I am trying to be organized in a way it's easier to use my tools and things... I have things I hardly use because it's such a hassle to have them out for a short period of time...
Anyway, enough of that... my inspiration came from this weeks sketch over at Mojo Monday #262... it's a Christmas card... and I must say I really enjoyed playing.

Off to make the most of the afternoon on my own today...
Take care,

Mojo Monday #261

Hi,
Well, I have not been able to find anytime to craft lately...  and I need to get on with making my Christmas cards.  Today my inspiration came from Mojo Mondays sketch #261, it made me get all my stash out looking for round inspiration... ha!

I made my Christmas planner at the beginning of the year this time... and I have dug it out ready to start making lists to organize myself...  hopefully it will get me moving in the right direction with my cards!  The time seems to fly when all the christmas build up starts... I seem to spend so much of december running around with the children with all the things they have going on...

Anyway, I'm off to have a play with my stash!
Take care

Sketch N Stash #96

Hello,
Hope you are well...  I have been playing again... This time my inspiration came from Sketch N Stash challenge 96...  This was a fun sketch... and the stash I used is some that I bought in a kit from QVC rather a long time again.  It's Flair Designs paper...  The fibre I used I have had forever (you can't really see it on the picture... I'm not good at using fibres to be honest.

I have bought some scalloped cards to play with next... so hopefully I will be back soon with another Christmas card or two...  I hope you are having a great day... I am so glad I don't have anywhere else to go today... there is a real chill to the wind here today despite that rather warm sunshine!!!!

Mojo Monday 259

Hi,
Hope you are well and happy.  Thank you for popping to look at my blog.  I am working on my Christmas cards now... my aim is to have them finished before half term, so I have been again sorting through stash, playing with my die cutters and could really do with a couple of good Christmas films to get me in the mood!!!!
I did find inspiration over at Mojo Monday with sketch 259... I really enjoyed playing along, what a great sketch!

My children seem to have decided that because I am cutting out snowflakes and holly leaves, it's a good time to start Christmas lists... OMG!!!   Off to have another session on making some Christmassy flowers....

Take care,

Mojo Monday #258

Hi,
Hope you are well... Ooops, that was quite a gap, wasn't it?  I just seem to have lost my mojo over the summer...  actually I have done a fair bit of baking but in our house nothing lasts long enough to take many pictures.
So, of course, having settled the children back to school, I am now starting on my Christmas cards... and here is my first offering...  My inspiration came from Mojo monday's sketch 258, it's a really great sketch to start with.  I have actually spent alot of the day just sorting out stash...

Hopefully, I will be back really soon with some more...
Take care

Mojo monday - Sketch 249

Hi,
Hope you had a lovely weekend... I am a very proud Mum today... my daughter got her Gold in swimming this weekend.  She is pretty shy and no matter how much we all keep telling her how good she is at swimming, she still lacks confidence in her ability... she swam her 36 lengths in 23 minutes and 9 seconds... time to spare... they have 25 minutes to do it in.  As I said, I am very proud of her.

Anyway, moving on to my crafting... this is my take on Mojo Mondays sketch 249.  I liked this sketch, as always it was fun to play along.

I also made some other cards this weekend... I seem to be pretty low on cards and have alot of birthdays this week.

I saw a card similar to this on a blog somewhere and then couldn't find it again, so I am not sure if I remembered it right, but I loved making the card and am very pleased with the results.

In celebration of the Gold swimming cerificate, I made a chocolate and almond cake yesterday... I actually managed to get a picture of it before anyone put a knife in it this time.

I am hoping for some more play time this week... need a couple of anniversary cards and a couple more birthday cards.

Well, I think I need a cup of tea... before I tackle my ironing pile.
Take care and keep smiling.

Mojo Monday sketch 248

Hello!
Hope you are all well.  I have been playing again... my inspiration came from playing along with Mojo Monday's sketch 248...  great sketch!  I seem to spend a bit too much time playing with flowers and my time just disappeared ...  I hate it when that happens!

I also played in the kitchen yesterday with cake and strawberries... it has to be done at this time of year, doesn't it?  All those lovely strawberry desserts...  I'd say summer strawberry desserts but it doesn't quite sound right this year, does it?

It was a very yummy cake and didn't last long!  Nothing ever does in our house.  I honestly don't know where my kids put their food these days, they are always hungry!!!!!

Today is a big day in our house.  My daughter has her experience day at High School today.  She was very nervous and seemed to stress about everything this morning, but when I dropped her off she gave me a big smile and a big wave... I am so excited for her, I know this sounds strange but I loved both my middle school and high school.  I hated primary school, I didn't enjoy school until I was 11 and we moved.  The year my daughter is in seems to have had alot of issues throughout school, to the point I think the school will be glad when they have moved one and my daughter is pretty quiet and doesn't like that they have so many problems in the class.  I am hoping the high school is a better experience for her because she enjoys the learning and the social aspects of school.  Fingers crossed, eh?   And not forgetting my son... he is in Year 6 for the day.  He gets to know what his 'job' is for the year and has his fingers crossed for something important and responsible.

Anyway, will go and make a cup of tea.  Have a lovely afternoon.
Take care

Mojo Monday - 247

Hi,
I love this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch #247.  I am on the Christmas cards... think I have four now!  I was so inspired by this sketch and had to wait as I needed to make flowers first ... I was pleased to find a hidden stash of Christmas paper and a bag of ribbon that seemed to be all Christmas colours, so I am still using older stash.  The flowers are made with some mulberry paper I have had forever, I found a whole pack of it, all smallish sheets in lots of different Christmas colours and patterns.

Last week I had a migraine so did not get any crafting done at all.  It was actually the worst one I have had in a long time and I was craving the dark and quiet for four days which is very difficult with two children.  I am feeling almost recovered now, just abit fuzzy sometimes.  My OH is useless... I know I always say this but it is true.  You can hear him willing me to get back to normal when he says 'don't you feel any better at all yet?' ...  He doesn't cope with the kids well (causes more arguements somehow) and doesn't know where the kitchen is... just the take out menu's.  My mum is wonderful though and at the weekend totally spoilt me by taking the whole of our usual saturday runaround with activities and shopping over, and nothing was missed or forgotten.

Now I am trying to decide what to get my son for his birthday.  His list is as longer than his arm with quite a few expensive things on it...  wouldn't it be easier if we just give them everything?!!

Hope you are well and didn't get too wet in all the horrendous rain.
Take care

CPS Card Sketch 270

Hi,
Well, it had to start somewhere... the Christmas card crafting and here it is.  I must admit I've spend ages sorting it out, I must have just threw it in the box when I finished with it last.
My inspiration came from a lovely sketch over at CPS - Card Sketch 270

I think I may have an excuse to buy some more Christmas papers... don't seem to have many... will sift through my other papers just to check first.   I do apologise about the unclear photography... not sure what happened there.

Hope you are also having this lovely sunshine...
Take care

Checking in - with a card!

Hi,
I hope the weather is better where you are today... it's so damp and miserable here, it's like November!!!   I feel like I should be starting to get sorted for Christmas, not thinking about holidays!

On a brighter note, my card is quite cheery...  I am still using scraps and stash I have had forever... I so want to buy some new stash but still can't justify it (I wonder how long this is going to last!)  I find myself browsing craft shops online alot at the mo...

We had a lovely Jubilee weekend.  My daughter's Confirmation was lovely, I was very proud of her and she looked so grown up.  I have discovered that our local church is a very nice community, no wonder she has enjoyed the social aspect of going to confirmation classes, etc... and they are taking them all bowling in a couple of weeks time too.  Even the headteacher of my daughters school turned up for the service and she gave them all a card and gift from the school.  The only thing that did disappoint was that Daddy didn't come... I know she was disappointed even though she said she didn't want him to come... he just isn't in to the church thing, just like he doesn't do the school thing either.  He can be so selfish sometimes!  But we won't go into that!

Anyway, I am off to start dinner...
Take care

Let's Capture These Sketches - card sketch 22

Hi,
Well.... checking in a bit quicker...  I was inspired as I was browsing and came across Let's Capture These Sketches - card sketch 22.  What a fun sketch this is... and I had a few sheets in an old K&Co paper pad that was begging to play with me.

Bit disappointed with the photo... I feel I need a new camera, I have had mine forever, but there are so many to choose from I seem to spend alot of time reading reviews and getting more confused by the minute.

Anyway, hope you are having a lovely weekend... My daughter is being Confirmed tomorrow, so I need to finish decorating her cake.

Mojo Monday - Sketch 243

Hi,
I seem to be spending far too much time browsing on the net and not enough crafting... I really did mean to make more cards this afternoon, but time just runs away with me when I'm on this lovely laptop!
Anyway, I did manage to put it down long enough to make this one... my take on Mojo Monday's sketch 243... what a lovely sketch it is too.

Again I am playing with things that are in my 'need to use up' box...
I need to make some 'Thank you' cards for teachers but seem to have lost my Thank You stamp.  My daughter is leaving Primary school in July and seems to want to send cards to every teacher in the school... so glad I asked her about this early!!!!!
Thank you for stopping by.

Mojo Monday - 242

Hi,
Isn't all this sunshine wonderful?  I love that I am always up earlier, feeling more positive and creative when the sun is shining!  I really hope it is sunny and warm where you are today.

The decorating is driving me mad... I am having some time off from it.  OH has gone fishing so I am playing with paper and card!  I have found alot of different crafting things that I didn't realise that I had and have been trying to sort it so that I can make some cards with it.

This is my take on Mojo Monday's challenge sketch 242.  The papers and image are from some things my mum gave to me when she bought one of those goody bags from Hobbycraft... so cute!  Nice fun sketch...

I also found some small packets of things from a kit I bought from a shopping channel many moons ago, and thought I'd make some more simpler cards for those times when I never seem to have an appropriate card...  I have gaps in my card box... I tend to mostly make just birthday cards, so I am making it my mission to make some 'other' occasion cards.

We have some exam takers in our family that are working very hard at the moment that I am going to send these to when they are finished taking them... I know they have been working very hard on their revision and I think a Congratulations for actually surviving GCSE's is definately warrented!

And a couple of simple birthday cards are always useful... am off to make some more!

Many thanks for popping by.
Take care.

Hi,
Just a quickie... this is a card I made as a 'Thank you' card... Using up some things I found as I have been sorting through stash.

I am having a weekend of NO PAINTING!!!!  I am so fed up of all the disruption, I decided I need a weekend with no decorating, no work, just peace and quiet!!!!!!  So I have been playing... or trying to inbetween all the interuptions.  I came to take photo's and of course, my camera battery was dead!!!

Thank you for popping by, and hopefully tomorrow I'll get more uploaded tomorrow!

Mojo Monday 239

Hi,

I don't know what has happened to the weather but I am thankful I have only had to do the school run today...

This is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch 239 ...  I enjoyed playing today... I have sorted some stash and am hoping to even get a start on some Christmas cards at some point!

I also couldn't resist having a play at a scrapbook page, these photo's were from a trip we took to Windmill Farm that I found mixed in with my stash... so I thought why not have a play with a layout too.

I will be back... I plan to play again later... OH has gone fishing (mad!!!) so I am making the most of being able to spread my stuff out in the living room.
Take care,

Mojo Monday 237

Hi,
Here is my take on Mojo Monday's sketch 237.  What a fun sketch!  I actually found it quite challenging as I rummaged through my stash ...

I know I have been missing for ages... I have litterally only started crafting again this week.  We have had loads of work done on the house (to the point we actually moved out for a while) and I have not touched my crafting since Christmas.  I have missed it so much too...  As we started having a new bathroom, heating and some replastering done, begun to decorate, we have just found so many other things that needed doing... all put down to the age of the house... and the mess has been devasting.  We still have a long way to go, including one room that still needs a new ceiling and replastered walls, but at least we are back living here at the mo!
In all this mess, I have discovered that I have a lot of crafting stuff that I need to use up before I buy anything else... OMG!  My OH has no idea what is in some of the boxes... good job too!!!!!  Yes, it is crafting stuff!!!!
These are my attempts at beginning to use some of that stuff....  and I'm really enjoying myself!

Cute bears!

I will post some more later....
Thank you for looking.
